City will celebrate American Flag Month in September

Coral Springs officials are encouraging residents and business owners to wave the American flag during the month of September. The City will also be displaying flag banners throughout major intersections to promote patriotism.
The City Commission unanimously supported the idea after receiving a letter from Coral Springs resident John Rogers who suggested to proclaim September 2007 as American Flag Month.
“The patriotic display of the American Flag, hopefully joined by thousands of homeowners and business operators in the City, will bring a sense of community and cooperation, which is vitally needed in these difficult times,” John Rogers stated in his letter.
“We will be displaying American flags at all of our City facilities throughout the month of September and we’re encouraging residents to do the same,” Commissioner Claudette Bruck said.
